“Maximizing Minimalism”. The idea of getting the most out of little…or sometimes nothing. At least in my mind. With this concept, we start to balance the necessities with everyday essentials. It portrays the beauty of maximizing minimalism. The foreground of the Shikibuton and the Tatami invites the viewer to a paradise of relaxation. Some might find this setup uncomfortable. With time, one will realize the pros of the Japanese futon. It provides spine stability (don’t quote me on that). It also offers a newer, clear, mindset. Next to the foreground, the background of the cityscape’s dark and illuminated sky envelops the outside of the room. Just a few moments of staring into space. Life. Other beings. Is what the background encourages individuals to engage in: moments of tranquility and solidarity.
The essence of simplicity. Embracing minimalism.
